This is a great book filled with lot of information and beautiful artworks to inspire you to create. All points are made with clear examples and are easy to understand. I think this book is going to be a constant companion to me. So glad I purchased it.

A must have!
James Gurney had mesmerized us with his Dinotopia series, and he brings forward his understanding of color and light and how to utilize the phenomenons best, in your creations! With ample paintings and illustrations to demonstrate the effects, this book is a worthy one in your collection, to study and refer to, every time.
The only drawback this book has, is that it lacks photographs of real life settings while demonstrating the phenomenons. In some cases this lack is felt.

Not very useful unless you are painter of Fantasy. Certainly not for the 'Realist Painter'
I purchased this book after reading excerpts and Illustrations in the 'International Artist' magazine published in Australia. I was very disappointed that the illustrations published in the magazine did not find a place in this book. One thing is certain! This is certainly not a book for the 'Realist Painter' as the cover proclaims. The author is the same as as the author of 'Dinotopia - How to Paint What Does NOT exist' - and as such implies a 'fantasy painter' and illustrator. The technique...
