  • Description
Thrilling and absorbing, Cometh the Hour is the sixth novel in international bestseller Jeffrey Archer's the Clifton Chronicles and sees the Clifton and Barrington families navigate the 1970s in an epic tale of tragedy and hope. There are devastating consequences for Harry and Emma Clifton, her brother Giles Barrington and their arch enemy Lady Virginia when a suicide note is read out in court. Having fallen in love, Giles must decide if he should withdraw from politics to try and rescue the woman he loves from behind the Iron Curtain. Lady Virginia faces bankruptcy, and can see no way out of her financial problems, until she is introduced to a rich, hapless American. Harry and Emma's son Sebastian Clifton, now the Chief Executive of Farthings Bank, falls in love with the wrong girl even as his rivals plot to overthrow him. Meanwhile, his father remains determined to free a fellow author from a gulag in Siberia, following the international success of the book they wrote together, the acclaimed Uncle Joe. But then something astonishing happens that none of them could have anticipated . . . The penultimate book in the Clifton Chronicles once again showcases Jeffrey Archer's extraordinary storytelling abilities and confirms his reputation for breathtaking twists. Continue the bestselling series with This Was a Man.

    An excellent penultimate book!

This book picks you up from the cliffhanger of the last book and off you go to a refreshing yet exciting ride again. I have been hooked on to this series, which has finally neared to drawing the curtains. It has elements of love, drama, adventure and passion. For a change, you will hear something about India in this book, not entirely pleasing though! Finally you can see some closure in the endless evil plotting of Virginia and Co. If you have read the entire series till this, then it is a mu...

    Awesome

Firstly the service provided by Flipkart was top notch.I received the 3 days earlier then what they had said and that too with proper packing..

    Now coming to the book.
Its legendary. The book is like an emotional roller coaster with continuous ups and downs and when you assume everything is settled Jeffery Archer add a "Twist In The Tale".
Once you start reading the book, you wont be able to keep it down without finishing it...
Therefore I highly recommend the Clifton Chronicles to both avid...

An awesome continuation though not the best.

I am an ardent fan of Jeffrey Archer and own about a dozen Author Signed Copies of his books, so this review may seem biased!

I loved the Clifton Chronicles from the first book as it truly is storytelling at its best, but I felt a little let down by Cometh the Hour.

This feels rushed. Contains a stereotyped image of India as seen by foreigners. Story is fast paced and does not give time for readers to get involved with the new characters.

Some old characters have been unnecessarily dragge...

Edge of the seat in a different manner

I had pre ordered the book, so i got it on 22nd march. The book was well packed as usual.
    ABOUT THE STORY-
This is the 6th book of Clifton Chronicals.I haven't finished it yet. But so far, this book keeps you on the edge with unexpected twists and turns. The only thing I don't like about this series is, if you want to happen, that won't happen, and if you want something not to happen, that will definitely happen.

So far so good. If you like Jeffery Archer, you might enjoy reading all his ot...

The Clifton saga scores a hit

Jeffrey Archer launched the first part of the Harry Clifton chronicles in Bangalore. His reason being that the book will hit the black market in India the next day wherever he launched it in the world as he has so many fans here – so, why not simply begin here and make more money. I happened to be there – it was a great evening, he sure knows how to keep his audience engaged and grinning for hours together. And then I actually spoke to him. My well-thought out words were a whispered, ‘ I love...

    Cometh the Hour

Its a page turner like all Jeffrey Archer novels. It has significant "Indian Content" for the first time, though for few pages it seemed like "DDLJ" revisited but the love story ends on a different note, Its amazing how he churns out pages after pages of such thrill & suspense. Waiting for the final book now.

    Jeffrey Archer!

Great quality by the seller and the packing, the care taken to the book is just so awesome and amazingly done.. Jeffrey Archer is an author who ironically, cannot be described with words but with emotions which come from reading the book written by the man himself.
