An exhaustive collection of Swami Vivekananda's speeches and works, The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda (Set of 9 Volumes) brings together the saint patriot’s thoughts on Vedanta, philosophy, and human consciousness.

    Summary of the Book

A spiritual man whose philosophical ideas had drawn the attention of some of the foremost philosophers of the West, Swami Vivekananda is still revered as the main reason behind Hinduism's emergence in the West. His teachings convey the core meaning of the rather complex Vedanta philosophy in a comprehensible way, which, perhaps, made Westerners interested in the Vedic scriptures. Regarded as the gospel of Hinduism and modern Vedanta, Vivekananda’s thoughts have shown the world what Hindu Dharma and Vedanta has stood for.

    About Swami Vivekananda

Swami Vivekananda was an Indian Hindu monk, public speaker, Vedanta philosopher, Yoga practitioner and the chief disciple of the Saint Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He is best remembered as the founder of the Ramakrishna Mission and the Ramakrishna Math and for his speech at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago in 1893, introducing the West to Hinduism. Named Narendra Nath Datta at birth by his aristocratic Bengali parents in Calcutta, he is considered a patriotic saint for propagating the message of Vedanta in the west through hundreds of speeches and lectures. His works are still read by millions of followers even today. Some of his other books are Sangeet Kalpataru, Karma Yoga, and Lectures from Colombo to Almora, Raja Yoga and Vedanta Philosophy: An address before the Graduate Philosophical Society.

    brings inner energy out

Some Times we forget what we have and what we are capable of. Though I did not complete all the volumes in this set, I can say it brings out our energy in a spiritual way.

"Wake up O lions and Shake off the delusions that you are sheep. You are Souls immortal spirits free.."

    Ocean of knowledge......

I am currently reading this, though I would say that even if you finish all the volumes, you will not be through...... Each and every sentence carries deep meaning. I have a collection of Swami Vivekananda's books, but I wanted these volumes to make my collection more organized...... Surely, these volumes are a treasure, if anyone interested in Vedanta literature...... In few words, I find these volumes as "Incredibly Thought Provocative"...... Highly Recommended......

No one comes even close to this great teacher. Know what potential we have and what a tiny life we are living

You can halt everything you are doing and start reading this book. Yes thats important is this book for any living human being, whatever religion or cast one may belong. Words can not describe the great teachings of great Swami Vivekanada. He is appreciated by scientists, philosophers and well known professors of the world but unfortunately common man of india and even this so called literate class knows little about him.

    Engrossing and enriching

The power of Vivekananda's spirit and the force of his intellect are awesome. His thoughts are especially relevant to today's problems. His stirring voice resounds through its pages, from cover to cover. It is impossible to read Vivekananda's words and not to be changed.
