the book concisely discuss medieval indian history.it is good book for civil services P.T. general studies.also option history mains short notes can be done efficiently.if you have studied J.L.MEHTA & SATISH CHANDRA then you will see that this book is mixture of both.overall good book,go for it.every book has limitations & this book is also not immune to it.

Having been saved in my graduation first year by Pearson's History of Ancient and Early Medieval India by Prof Upinder Singh, I had high hopes of this work on medieval history.I did have my misgivings when I saw the period covered, but I was still pretty optimistic.
