This book is descriptive rather than mathematical in character and our attempt is to make the study of Biostatistics and Research Methodology comprehensive and entertaining. We have endeavoured to create interest among health science students through discussion of historical aspects, concepts, techniques, and their applications in statistical interpretations. Too many equations and calculations may, in our opinion, wreck the enthusiasm, if any, of the health science students. Computer programmes are widely available and used for calculations and data analysis. However, the users of these programmes ought to develop the capacity to discern the available statistical techniques and draw inferences. Ample illustrations are given to make the meaning clear. Each chapter ends with a list of references to other authoritative works on similar and related subjects. These references ought to be useful for postgraduate students who need to complete dissertations. This book should be useful for undergraduate and postgraduate students of health sciences and researchers in health and biomedical sciences.
