Computational Science and Engineering  (English, Hardcover, Strang Gilbert)

This text provides a comprehensive overview of computational and numerical methods in a way only Gilbert Strang can, but it comes nowhere near to his excellent Linear Algebra text in terms of didactic value. It serves as an excellent reference for researchers or practitioners of scientific computing but it's not the best resource to learn the material for the first time.
