does this book deserve your hard earned money??? NO

shoib akhtar - the rawalpindi express who could hurl the ball at speeds exceeding 100 mph - was a lethal weapon in the pakistan bowling line up

(period)

now the guy presents to us a "tell-all" biography
but the gimmicks used to promote the book won't attract an intelligent reader. shoaib claims in the media are just cheap marketing tricks that do no good to the book sales

the man claims his pace terrorized sachin, that sachin played mathches only to add runs to his record book, that he was...

A treatise of pain

well well well, he didnt want sympathy, didnt he? it's like the cheap tabloid you read while waiting in transit. a few points would have really helped 1. the rant is repetitive, every name appears so many times that you can easily skip pages 2. which means that this same kahani could have been told in like half the pages or even less 3. the autobiography seems more like an interpreted interview, with heavy english dropped in here and there by the interviewer, that takes the authenticity away,...

Interesting Read

The book is an interesting read and gives an insight into the life of the fast bowler...I believe that Shoaib has done a good job because he has expressed his feelings without being diplomatic.Thats how Shoaib Akhtar is....You may not like what he says.....but he would say it none the less.

Not too bad a read

After reading d book i realized that i had very less knowledge regarding Shoaib's life both on n off d field. This book sort of opened my eyes towards his commitment, love n passion for d game as well as Pakistan. He admits to many controversies n also proves most of the others wrong.
However, his aim is to reach out to budding youngsters who want to bcum fast bowlers, n he advises them on many imp things such as proper fitness, rest, diet. His life was one of pain n he shares that with us mu...

A Good read

A decent book, especially if you are a cricket fan and want to know more about what happens behind the scenes, in the dressing rooms and the relations between players and Boards. Inspiring to know that Shoaib Akhtar braved so many hardships to become what he did and also had to face a lot of resistance from many people. In all, a good read if cricket has an important place in your scheme of things.

Man who creates controversies.

If many dont like one, the problem is not with many, it is with the one. So before blaming or writing about the others, one should review himself that whether he has the rights to write about the others with the great dignity and passion for what they have been doing for.

The summary is that, if you respect others, you will also earn the respect in return, otherwise dont even think for it and dont blame others for it. The problem is with you Shoahib.

An average account

I wouldn't say this is a hopeless book, although this is far from what I wanted it to be. It speaks more about 'Shoaib Akhtar' rather than 'fast bowling'. Not many youngsters could take this book as an inspiration. Especially those kids who grew up admiring Akhtar will be utterly disappointed. Nevertheless, righteously speaking, Akhtar has tried to redeem himself through the book. Things which he has been looking to express openly he has done so. He has protected himself rather sensitively th...

Worth a read

The book was delivered within 24 hours and was packed well.

About the book - It is the autobiography of Shoaib Akhtar "the star". So be prepared to read 271 pages of self gloating. It does not offer any insight into the game of Cricket but is rather more about Akhtar defending the various allegations levelled on him over the years, and blaming every Tom, Dick and Harry for trying to end his career sooner than it should have.

I would have skipped this book if the price was around a thousand ...
