If you are considering this RAM for your system then first of all, make sure your Motherboard supports 8 GB RAM. In most cases, motherboards supports 4 GB x 2 RAM. If you use 1 x 8 GB then your system might boot-loop.

Now if you are running a 32 bit operating system, then there's no way you can use 8 GB. Even if you put 2 slots of 4 GB x 2 for this, your system would only use and display 4 GB. Since 32 bit of operating system only supports 4 GB of RAM.

This is currently the best value in 8GB DDR3 DIMMs. Solid, stable and dependable.

Physically, the heat sink is large and may foul with larger CPU coolers on some motherboards.

You can match this RAM to either Sandy Bridge or Ivy Bridge CPUs. The JEDEC defaults are usually selected by the motherboard automatically.

Caution : Don't buy this RAM with older chipsets like the Intel H61 as that does not support double sided memory.

I am writing this after 7 months of purchase (never got around to writing a review until now) and yes the Corsair ddr3 Vengeance 8gb RAM is truly worth your investment. The embedded heat sink does a fantastic job and there is no hitch even when your system is working for 12-15 hours at a stretch. Of course the optimal use of this ram is best complimented with an equally powerful processor ( quad core at-least in case of AMD and i5 for Intel)

works beautifully while rendering all kinds of stuff... i use all 90% memory while working and this goes on for 2-3 days without any problem.... heat sink with the RAM gets heated up but it cools off very fast wen i shut down the PC all the things are awesome in it....
just that when i purchased it it was for 2700 bucks... and now its for 5225/- :P still go for it....

This is a terrific product for the price. The heat sink at the top is very useful in not letting the chip getting overheated and also ensures that we don't actually touch the chip while installing. Make sure you use a 64 bit OS like Win 7 64 or Win 8, else only 2.99 GB will be usable. Flipkart service is excellent as always in every way.
