FPS games are all about skill and precision. One moment you can be eliminating your enemy and the next you can be pinned to wall with bullet holes all over your body. In the FPS universe there is only one game that gives you the skills and ability to defeat anyone in the genre- Counter Strike. With Counter Strike 1: Anthology you won’t be just getting Counter Strike, but a lot more that can help develop your special talent.
Counter Strike 1: Anthology is a special edition that has 2 games within one. This edition contains the stand-alone Counter Strike game along with Counter Strike: Condition Zero. The game is targeted towards hard-core gamers and for anyone who loves shooting games. Counter Strike 1: Anthology is a First-Person-Shooter and is available for the PC platform. The game has a Mature rating from ESRB.
Synopsis and Features
The games in Anthology have a simple formula. There is a terrorist situation. You can be the terrorist or the counter force that eliminates them. The terrorists try to plant a bomb at a specific location or hold a group of hostages. The counter-terrorists try to defuse the said bomb or rescue the hostages. The team that successfully completes their set of objectives or that kills everyone on the other team wins.
Developed and published by Valve Corporation, the game re-defined its genre when it was released. The minimum systems requirements for the game to run smoothly on your computer are Windows XP or 2000, an active internet connection, Pentium III 800 MHz processor, 500 MB disk space, 128 MB RAM, and a 32 MB RAM equipped graphics card.
The game has solid single player campaign. There are three single-player gaming modes that allow you to take part in a variety of missions. Each mode has special objectives that are essential to be fulfilled to move on to the next level. Winning each mission will earn you experience points. You can use these experience points to recruit new computer bots to your team.
The best thing about the Counter Strike games is its AI. The AI is intelligent enough to predict your decisions and moves in a tight group. No matter what team you are in, you will always feel challenged. This allows you improve your skills with each mission you play and each level you achieve. The game has a variety of weapons like Desert Eagle pistols, pump-action shotguns, AK-47 assault rifles and many more. Varied environments bring in more involving and interesting gameplay.
The main reason why Counter Strike games are so much popular is because of its multiplayer. You can team with players from across the world and play the game for hours. You can play with computer bots too who are just as competitive as human players. The game even if it was released way back in the year 2000 is still going strong and is a regular in gaming tournaments.
The game has a variety of versions like Source, and the upcoming Global Offensive which re-create the Counter Strike environments in HD and tweak other details. Anthology also has deleted scenes that were not featured in the original game. This gives you one more reason to explore the game’s universe. The updates and patches for the game can be downloaded from Steam or directly from the company website.
