Absolutely smooth. The magnets work wonderfully. A well built cube, so much light in weight, also has a very good matte finish for a very good grip in hands. Feels every bit premium in hand and justifies its price.
I did not get any screw or replaceable gear, nuts, tighteners, etc. with this 356 M, but I don't regret it as i would hardly ever use them.
It's a wastage of money for the cubers, new to this realm, but for avid cubers, who like and are capable of speed cubing, this is a must have ...
