    Description

Curtain is a posthumously published mystery novel by Agatha Christie, the Queen of Crime. It returns the aged Belgian Detective to Styles, where he announces that one of the guests is a murderer.

    Summary of the Book

Hercule Poirot is an old man. He has had his fair of cases, and he is indisputably the best private detective there is. However, all good things must come to an end, including one’s grey cells. When Poirot returns to Styles with his loyal companion Captain Hastings, he startles Hastings with an unusual announcement. Hastings had already met the other guests, his daughter Judith, a calm and respectful ornithologist named Norton, the charming Mr. Allerton, the soft and brittle Miss Cole, Dr. Franklin and his weak wife Barbara, Boyd-Carrington who always has something good to say, the nurse Craven, Colonel Luttrell and his wife Daisy. All of them seemed to be excellent people to Hastings, however he knew that Poirot was never wrong. There is a murderer amongst them, one who has killed five times before. And now, Poirot is ready to nail this perpetrator in what remains his last, and perhaps most grand, case.

    About Agatha Christie

Agatha Christie was an English novelist best known for her murder mystery novels. She created several best-selling storylines centred around timeless characters such as Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Tommy and Tuppence and Parker Pyne. Some of her best known books are A Mysterious Affair at Styles, And Then There Were None and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.

This book was adapted into the final episode of Agatha Christie’s Poirot TV series, starring David Suchet and Hugh Fraser in one last glorious nod of the head to the little Belgian detective who was so proud of his moustache.

    Series Reading Order

This is the 39th and final Hercule Poirot book. If you’ve reached the end and you’re hankering for more, do feel free to start again, with A Mysterious Affair at Styles, where Hercule Poirot arrives at Styles 30 years before he takes the stage once last time in the above novel.

    Perfect product!

    Agatha Christie Mrs McGinty's Dead
    Chapter 1
Hercule Poirot came out of the Vielle Grand'mère restaurant into Soho. He turned up the
collar of his overcoat through prudence, rather than necessity, since the night was not cold.
"But at my age, one takes no risks," Poirot was wont to declare.
His eyes held a reflective sleepy pleasure. The escargots de la Vielle Grand'mère had been
delicious. A real find, this dingy little restaurant. Meditatively, like a well-fed dog, Hercule

    What A Book!!

What a book. Mindblowing and superlative. Christie excels herself. Poirot is sick, old and crippled.......still his little grey cells are as sharp as they are and in his last case, he excels himself!!

This book is one of its kind. Sure, you have culprit(s), and murder(s) as in the rest of Christie's but there the comparison ends. The culprit is a la Moriarty....matching wits with the great Belgian and winning the stakes too. The climax, when it comes, literally takes your breath away.

    Just...

The best agatha cristie book I have ever read!!!

If you have not read much of Agatha Cristie's books then I would not recommend this to you...But if have read a few and have some idea about his work then I simply say that this book is worth reading....this book reflects the class of Agatha Cristie and this closing book for Poirot's series really proves that she is the "queen of detective fiction"..

    Have a go.

For a Christie/Poirot fan like me, a must read. Otherwise too, any reader will enjoy the all setting. After the initial (usual) plot setting, the book is a gripper. One cannot say Christie at her best but makes a good and entertaining treat. Get it and have a crack friends.

    Interesting Read

This is the last case in the Hercules Poirot series by Agatha Christie. No one could have imagined such a surprising end to such an amazing series. Reading this was totally worth it, especially because I am a thorough poirot fan.

If you are getting started on the Poirot series or haven't read agatha christie before, then I would not recommend this book, because it's the last one. I was very happy with the book.

Curtain:Poirot's Last Case - The most delicious book by Christie

Written in the first-person narrative of Captain Hastings, this book is the best one by Dame Agatha Christie. I'm too baffled to tell you just how amazing this book is. Poor old Papa Poirot dies in this book, which is quite a shock. As always, the end intrigues one beyond measures. This book, however, is far more intriguing than the others ever written by the author. I don't want to spoil your reading experience by divulging anything... My verdict : Go for this. Thumbs up!

    Not such a good read.

This book was too slow from the beginning and the murder takes place after 200 pages of the book.It is just like Endless Night, where there is not much clues and investigation. This book was dull and not the usual, interesting Hercule Poirot book. Was quite boring.

    ********************************************SPOILER***************************************************

This climax was similar to the one in And Then There Were None.
