    utterly Disappointed

Though it starts on promising note, the characters build up and detailing takes too long and very slow , that it distracts you from main story. It is not a fast paced for sure, after reading 1/3 I was wondering when the real investigation start.
And by the time investigation started it finished.
Borei Gowda is characterized as an intelligent office but we find no clues how he resolves the mystery. I was able to guess the murdered after 2/3 of novel.. the suspense doesn't hold you./
    Slow and ...

Good one. Holds the suspense till the last pages

I am not a prolific reader and not an expert at reviewing a book.
But since I read this book, I think I can make my opinion.

This one is a well framed crime investigation story. The complete plot is set in Bangalore. It holds the suspense till the last page.

This one is totally different from Anita Nair's 'mistress'. I would suggest this book to you if you are interested in crime stories OR if you like Anita Nair's style of writing.

    Inspector Gowda

Focused around central Bengaluru, Cut Like wound is story of crime, police, politics and life around that. Inspector Gowda's role is centre to the plot of demystifying a series of seemingly unrelated murders.

Good entertainer. Hope there will be sequels...

    Good read for a Bangalorean

Any Bangalorean would love the references to the city and the depictions of the characters that inhabit here.
Characters have been well developed. Scene depictions are good.
Special mention to the research into various topics required for the story, though at times it seems overdone slightly, as it doesn't seem natural.
Story can be said to be gripping, definitely not boring in any stretch.
    A good weekend read.

    CUT LIKE WOUND

A WONDERFUL BOOK. ENJOYED READING IT. THE AUTHOR HAS TAKEN PAINS TO KEEP THE TEMPO OF READING. THE REVEALING OF REAL CULPRIT WAS VERY GOOD. SHE HAS DESCRIBER BANGALORE IN SUCH DETAILS, EVEN THOSE WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH BANGALORE GET THE FEELING OF THIS GREAT CITY. INSPECTOR GOWDA WILL REMAIN IN MEMORY FOR A LONG TIME - CERTAINLY. THE CARE TAKEN BY THE AUTHOR TO GIVE MINUTE DETAILS OF OBSERVATION BY THE INSPECTOR IS REALLY WONDERFUL.

    good suspense thriller

its a very good read for those interested in murder mystery.
I would never have guessed that the brother was the real killer...
I have given 3 stars coz I m not satisfied with the climax of the book.
snatosh should have gained consciousness and revealed to gowda the identity of the real killer.
but instead the story ends at the godown itself...
    not fair..!!

    A peotic crime thriller

Cut like Wound is about a serial killer loose in Bangalore. As Borei Gowda tries to catch the killer, Anita Nair's narration brings alive Bangalore's sights and sounds. She captures the dilemma's of Borei's mid life crisis, his loneliness and his tendency to call a spade a spade. The novel moves leisurely yet is not slow. The book, unlike, other books in this genre does not present the hero as a caricature but as a mortal with his own share of doubts and desires and it is that depiction of Bo...

    Poor writing style.

The novel starts with a confusion. Introducing all the characters takes too long. The flow of the story could have been better if the detailed description of each scene would have been skipped. Overall, what one may expect while reading doesn't surely turn up the way one actually wants. Inspector Gowda though portrayed as one of the most intelligent officers, fails to create that impression in one's mind. Not recommended for readers who expect a full suspense, thriller, sending chills to your...
