| Author Info | - Dhruv Bhatt, who writes deep, mysterious poems and a few, but very meaningful novels, became famous as an important, leading writer in Gujarati literature in a few years. His first novel, ‘Samudrantike’ (Marathi translation: ‘Sagartiri’), won many awards and the subsequent ‘Tattvamsi’ even won the ‘Sahitya Akademi Award’. This was followed by another novel, ‘Atrapi’, and the present novel, ‘Akupar’, was published. This can probably be called his best novel so far, because it not only gives the readers a mind-blowing story set in a different environment; but at the same time makes them think about the relationship between the environment, humans and other animals. His special mysterious thread is mixed into the story. One of the features of Dhruv Bhatt’s novels is that in them, the protagonist himself narrates the story, but his name is not revealed until the end. And the second characteristic is that they write about the region in which they tell their stories, after going there themselves, living there, experiencing it, and only then. The Bhatt couple, who had gone to the Gir Sanctuary to collect information, built a small house and stayed there for a few months.
