This is a great book to read for someone picking up this topic, with lucid explanation of the concepts, thought provoking questions in the exercises, sufficient mix of solved examples thrown in to reinforce the theory. On the topic of databases, I am at an intermediate level of competency, and I found this book very useful to refresh what I already knew, as well as learn things that I did not know.

The book relies on figures, diagrams to explain the concepts.Further, examples are really well-explained. Diagrams are clear and labelled. If you have less time to cover a topic jst go throgh the figures, for this you need to have good interpretation and observational skills. But don't worry even if you don't have this skills there is always the lucid theoretical explanation attached with each and every diagram.This helps to grasp the topic quickly.

Must buy. Complete book. It has all the topics covered, and very easy to understand with good examples. However, the examples are easy ones, and the tricky questions still remain unanswered.
