About the Authors

Hector Garcia-Molina is a Professor of computer science and electrical engineering at Stanford University. His areas of expertise include digital libraries, information integration, and database application on the Internet. He was honored with the Sigmod Innovations Award and is a member of PITAC (President's Information-Technology Advisory Council). He has authored GUI & Database Management: For University of Mumbai and Database System Implementation.

Jeffrey D. Ullman is also a Professor of computer science at Stanford University. His research interests include database theory, database integration and data mining. He was presented with the Guggenheim Fellowship and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering. He was also honored with the 1996 Sigmod Contribution Award and Karl V. Karstrom Outstanding Educator Award. He has authored several books including A First Course in Database Systems and Elements of ML Programming.

Jennifer Widom is an Associate Professor in the computer science and electrical engineering departments at Stanford University. She is the co-author of A First Course in Database Systems.
