The latest in the series, Dead Or Alive 5 features upgraded graphics and more realistic visual styling than the previous games. The storyline jumps two years after the events culminating in Dead Or Alive 4 and and weaves an inter-relating story about the characters in the game. The new tournament has started and the players have joined up to be crowned as the ultimate fighter, while continuing to look for and pursue the evil twin of Kasumi.

Dead Or Alive 5 features a total of 4 modes that are similar to the older version, which are, the Story Mode, Fighting Mode which includes the Arcade, Time Attack and Survival mode. Training Mode allows you to practice your moves and try out different styles of fighting.

The story picks up two years after the TriTower got destroyed which used to be the HQ of DOATEC. Helena Douglas is the daughter of the founder of DOATEC who is Fame Douglas. She rebuilds the association in order to use its resources and research for the purpose of peace and harmony among all mankind. Helena takes it upon herself to cleanse the organization of evil doers by terminating projects that were meant to bring harm to innocents and with the expulsion of all the Donovan Faction members from the DOATEC offices across the world.

The game has a PEGI rating of 16 and is designed for the PS3. The game supports both single player and multiplayer modes. Along with these, the game features some interesting options and preferences.

Features:

Triangle System - Fights in Dead or Alive are based on a triangle system: strikes beat throws, throws beat holds, and holds beat strikes. When you land an attack of one type that beats another type, like landing a strike when an opponent tries to throw, that attack becomes a Hi Counter attack and does even more damage.

Holds - Dead or Alive fights are more than just strikes and throws. You have to know how to use holds too. Right when your opponent throws a strike, do a hold to deflect it and attack them back for a lot of damage in one move.

Danger Zones - These are special regions found in most stages that cause heavy damage when a fighter gets knocked into them. Danger Zones can range from basic walls to blockbuster explosions and careening cars. Some stages also have Danger Zones within the floors as well.

Blockbuster Stages - Two fighters battle it out as the walls around them crumble, generators explode, and entire buildings collapse beneath their feet! In Dead or Alive, you don't just watch the blockbuster action, you cause it. Use the new Power Blow move to knock your opponent into the series signature Danger Zones to cause major damage and mayhem!

Cliffhangers - Some stages have separate upper and lower levels. You can knock an opponent over the edge, but if your opponent grabs onto the stage at the last second, there will be a playable action sequence between you: the Cliffhanger. If successful with the attack, you will inflict even more damage on your opponent.

Power Blows - This is a powerful move that lets you set a direction to blow your opponent away. Once the Power Blow hits, aim the camera left or right with the directional buttons, directional pad, then send your opponent flying! Do you knock them into a Danger Zone for certain damage, or do you send them off a cliff to try for even more damage - and risk doing none?

Beat em up

Fighting game. Not quite the Mortal Kombat 2011, but nice moves, descent graphics, seductive ladies (no nudity though). found the game play to be a little easy. will not recommend for anyone below 15 (its a 15 rated game anyway). Fun to play and loads of downloadable online content on xboxlive. though you have to pay for most, some are still made available free. Game is good for the price its being offered. a word of warning for MK players. Mortal Kombat (2011) is still the best fighting ga...

Experience the Adrenaline Rush of being Alive

When i bought the game i was a bit disappointed with a 22 character roster but went on to buy it anyway since i missed out on DOA4 because it being a xbox 360 exclusive.

When i started playing the game seriously for the past week i began to enjoy it's fight mechanics, the game is easy to pick up for new players, it will give you the feel of a pro player, it's fight engine & audio capture the feel of a real martial art fight & the impact sounds for punches & kicks feels like you are really br...

Sent me a used game. The DVD had fingerprints on them.

Bought this game 2 days ago and they sent the delivery before time but of no use. They sent me a used game DVD which was thin taped all over artistically to make it look new.

The authenticity seal was intact but when I looked closely, it was pealed off from one side smartly with blade. The best is that DVD has fingerprint on it and its scratched on the edges.

Looks like they have been giving it to their kids to play before shipping it to me. Returning it right away.
