“ … deCODE RED is a therapeutic journey back in turbulent times, with a unique ringside view on Naxalism. It’s a moving chronicle of adventure, human conflict, vendetta, and violence inside the melting pot of a large political event. Amarnath Jha’s presentation successfully isolates the clashing perspectives of activists, police, political establishment and media in a difficult multi-polar conflict, with objectivity and without bias for any one of them. They say time is the biggest healer. Hope with this re-living of the Jehanabad Jailbreak event, the pain and suffering caused to humanity around it heals with time…. An engaging page turner…” -Abhinav Singh Kashyap, Indian film-maker who directed blockbuster film Dabangg. deCODE RED packs a substantial punch combining geo-politics of Ultra Left with pacy entertainment. A political-thriller shows slick management of plot and narrative. -Param Gill, American Film director
Interesting narrative on almost each and every aspect of naxal movement in India. Worth taking some time to go through the journey of journalist Harsh and Maoist Nishchal.
If you love adventure and thriller I highly recommend this novel. I found the book hard to keep down. The writer has taken an analytical view rather than backing up propoganda (on either side).
