Well-intentioned movie that makes you think

Says a humorous take, but it really is not one. You feel for the protagonist and can understand his angst. I guess that's exactly what the director wanted.

Village setting and the villager's mentality are fantastically captured. What factors drive the decision making in villages do come out and this time the medium used is building temple. The movie ends with you seriously thinking and questioning the institution & it's committees.

One thing that could have been better though is its pacing....

A Timeless Satire

3)....the positive and negative impact of both above...
By far a very modern and innovative concept in Indian Cinema

It touches every (almost) aspect of life

I wouldn't be caught dead watching a movie about or against any kind of temple. I just don't care about the institution. I didn't want to watch this one, because I thought it would either be about the greatness, or the mockery, of some temple.

BUT, its as far as it gets from either. Its the golden mean.

People, who don't have much, need to put faith in something higher, and believe that at least somebody has control of their lives. Keep this in mind and watch the movie and ...
