Brilliant sarcasm

Looking at the cover one might think its another chic lit but only when you read it do you realize the serious point its trying to make. By the time one reaches the end of the book, one falls in love with the courage of the writer and her ability to make a point on the contemporary pakistan, by blending humor. An extremely honest take!

Awesomest

Such a nice book. Can be read anytime. But, for those who recently had a heartbreak or those who are sad for any reason must must must read it. It'll cheer you on in jiffy. My friend separated from her beau & I recommended this to her. Not much this book could do, but she surely laughs & smiles more. Arey, there's no tension. Just plain humor of a silly high profile socialite. You'll laugh for sure. ESP, girls. You'll relate to her. As if, you've met her or talked to a similar person in your ...

A Great No-Nonsense Satirical Book

Most Indian writers who write in English do not write for Indians. Their audience is in English-speaking countries in the West. So, they litter their books with all kinds of explanations and footnotes. The list of writers who do this include everyone from Khushwant Singh to the latest Booker prize sensation.

Moni Mohsin does nothing of that kind. She makes no compromises and writes straight from her heart. It of course reduces the size of her audience but her work is more authentic and hones...

Disappointment

I bought this book, looking at reviews. Its not at all worth it. The language used is broken english and the local hindi, if anyone who doesn't understand hindi tries reading it, they will lose thier calm in the Introduction itself. Also, I did stop reading after introduction, i found it senseless and stupid(thou i understand hindi).

Bought based on reviews

I bought this book based on the reviews written here and I was very disappointed. It's not at all like you may think it is. For all the women thinking it would be like Bridget Jones' Diary....it's not. And to top it all, it's not even funny. At no time does the character talk about how the on going situation in Pak affects her life. She's only bothered about GT's and joraa's etc. For those looking for an easy read....don't bother with this one. The english is atrocious (it's meant to be), and...

No never purchase it.

The worst book i have ever read. Worst English too. In fact its not a English language book. Full of bullshit crap. No story ....No theme. ..uff.... Went through the reviews and hence purchased. Now feeling like it would have been better if i had donated the amount to a begger. At least he would become happy for a moment.

Terrible

Terrible Terrible Book. Couldnt read beyond 10 pages, my english went for a toss. The desi language just added to my woes and how the Pakistan situation was affecting the author, could never make sense out of it.
Oh! Lord save me. My guilt conscious will kill me even if I gift this book to anyone.
