    best book to master the basics..!

    very good book to learn the fundamentals..but I noticed quite some mistakes in the book(typos as well answer to problems)..but the concepts are explained clearly and in a lucid way..after each concept applications are explained..lots of examples and exercise problems are given..get it if you are a novice in the subject..otherwise I suggest you go for Digital Design by Morris Mano and Michael D. Ciletti(for knowledge as well as for GATE)..
