It's a great book.

But this particular edition has some issues -
a. Print and Page quality is not good
b. Chapter 6 ( Color Image Processing ) is in color but the color quality is bad.

I would recommend going for the other, slightly costlier, same edition variant.

This is an illustrative book on image processing...
This book has nice topics which give you a very good understanding of the processing of an image.
I am using this book for my college...N believe me .. Its is very good..
The topics are very well aligned. This helps in starting with the basic Idea of image processing to complex transforms used for specific enhancement in the image. I would surelly Recommend this book.
Also useful if you people have interest in this field....

The book is complete reference for image processing.. Initially I was not getting the language correctly.. so I switched to "Digital image processing by Dhananjay Theckedath" its a amazing book.. it clears all the basics... then again switched to Gonazalez and found, it is very very good book thanks to both the authors..

A very good book for an entire course on image processing. But there are a few per-requisites such as linear algebra. You can find these video lectures on the same from a few open course ware forums such as IIT and MIT. An ideal choice would be this book plus a few video lectures on image processing from the above mentioned forums. And a very good job flipkart, got this book in a day!
