About the Authors

Alan V. Oppenheim is an esteemed academician, who is the professor of engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His areas of expertise and research are signal processing and its applications. He has authored and co-authored many widely read textbooks like Signals and Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Signals and Systems: Solutions Manual, Single and Multiple-Chip Microcomputer Interfacing and Papers on Digital Signal Processing among many other scholarly works. Alan is also the Fellow of the IEEE and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

Ronald W. Schafer is an esteemed and well known Electrical Engineer, born in Nebraska, notable for his scholarly contribution ti the field of Digital Signal Processing. He obtained his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has worked with the Bell Laboratories. He was also associated with Hewlett Packard and Georgia Institute of Technology. He is the recipient of the IEEE Emanuel R. Piore Award in 1980. Ronald has authored and co-authored books like Schafer Speech Analysis, DSP First: A Multimedia Approach, Digital Processing of Speech Signals, Introduction to Digital Speech Processing and Theory and Applications of Digital Speech Processing among other widely read works.
