Brings the Booker Prize back some of its credibility

Take it or leave it, the Man Booker Prize lacks credibility. Or so it seems. However, books like "Disgrace" manage to salvage most of the lost credibility. Quite clearly Coetzee's masterpiece, "Disgrace" makes you think; and think hard. If I have seen an author touch that evasive trait of "humanness", it has to be Coetzee. Highest Quality

I read about 10-12 books/novels every month, but i must say that this has been finest quality read since i read Ayn Rand a few months back. The writer has an amazingly engrossing style. There are very limited characters in the book but they are very beautifully portrayed. While reading the book, it feel like you are reading the mind of the main character.

Overall, your collection is incomplete without this one.

Very absorbing from the very start. The author focuses on human weaknesses and different philosophies that may govern different men. One who likes different perspectives and ideologies to life must surely go for this book. Also, the style of writing is lucid and flowing. The author keeps us engrossed till the very end. deeply moving..

It's one those books that leaves a lasting impact on the reader. It's Hard-hitting, honest and unflinching portrayal of life in post-aparthied south-africa. A very vivid description of revenge for centuries of oppression. J Coetzee brings to life the pain born out hatred on one side and the the one born out of guilt. An indian reader can probably relate the book with the caste based oppression and the revenge crimes in India the recent past.Slightly depressing, but every way, a must read.
