This book gives new insight about how India's perspective has changed over the time and how various government has played out with the world countries. Malone gives a balanced light on the evolution of the great India.

The book is written as a beautiful analytical work. The relations are discussed with much how and why. the author not only shares his experiences but had used authentic references and personal analysis to project the pragmatic realities of course of India's relations.
Simply one of the best to read on Indian foreign policy

This book is a masterpiece. It provider an overview, historical evolution and approach for future of India's foreign engagement. Written in 2011 it predicted many events based on geopolitical understanding with precise accuracy such as rise of ISIS. This factor keep you engaged and it is not felt that you are reading some outdated analysis.

Though flipkart has discontinued it's Indian edition (as it is not available here for past 4 months or may be more), I procured one from a Connaught Place book store. The writer has trenchantly commented on India's external affairs policy. This book remains one where a diplomat has taken care of his words, but the analysis and writing remains no where ostensible.
It has apparently neglected a few countries which for writer has given due justification.
