Since the beginning of civilization, the beauty of man has been associated with art. Beyond the Neolithic Age, the Copper-Bronze Age reached another level of human artistic consciousness. They invented various metalworking techniques, 'Dokra' being one of them. Lost wax metal casting is approximately five thousand years old. I have been interested in this ancient art form for a long time. I was directly introduced to this art product during my student days by going to Paush Mela in Santiniketan and from there I developed a deep interest in it. One first learned about the novelty of Dokra's construction technique by talking to a Dokra artist sitting sprawled on the ground outside the main fair premises by the entrance to the fair. That's the beginning. After doing various searches, Daryapur, without appearing. Visualize Dokra's phenomenal construction work. While I am collecting various documents related to Dokra, little by little my writing book related to Dokra is getting filled, just then I received Syed Basiruddoza's book related to Dokra from my respected Sir Brahmanarayan Mukhopadhyay. This very simple book published by Burdwan University opened before me a wealth of unknown information on various aspects of Dokra art. I stick to dokra field reviews. Gradually my writing became informative. In addition to the information and experiences I have gained from visiting different places in search of Dokras, the documents obtained from various books and newspapers have enriched me.
