An experience to remember

I have been an avid reader and my mind goes tick-tock every time I see books on the shelf. My hands are always itching to grab those books and read at leisure, be it Khushwant Singh's conversational style or narrative style of William Darlymple or even the realistic snapshot of events by Zaidi amongst others. And then the thought crossed my mind, can I take on the role of a critic for myself and post my version or my take on specific books that I have read over a period of time. And I enthusi...

A Reality Showcase, Shake You Overall

Excellent writing throughout all the chapters. Most appreciating is the narrative forms and virtual (in form of words) screen play given. Right from the beginning to end enthusiasm and eagerness to unfold next page remains till the finish.
It just virtual take you to the original Mumbai (Bombay) and origin of the underworld and its link and roots in our society, be it politicos, police, bollywood, foreign connections or a so called aam aadmi. Most of the chapters give you a feel like you are ...

Interesting and Fast Paced

Sixty of the organised crime syndicate summarized in one book.

The entire book is based on facts and when you are attempting such a work of non-fiction, it takes a lot of courage and good writing skills to keep the reader interested.
And trust me you won't feel bored even for a single page.
Its thrilling and its fast paced.

What I liked the most is how the author has described, most of the things with minutest of details and given his views on the incidences.

If you are a fan of gangster f...

Simple, Good and Authentic!

The uppity reader in me always ignored this book thinking it would be a wishy-washy Masala book.
I WAS WRONG! This is a well-researched piece of work written in a simple but fast paced style. After a long time I finished a book cover to cover in a marathon reading session.
Needless to add almost all recent Mumbai Mafia offering from Shootout at Wadala to Once Upon a Time in Mumbai are all in this book.
Go ahead and read it …..I assure you it is far better and exciting than all the Mumbai Mafi...

Informative

This book is great, Kudos to the write which might have took years to collect and then grab them and jot it down, its an absolute information about the underworld mafia and its fun to read about the facts and i will give it 4 out o 5 due to the excellent writing and the awesome and interesting information, though i didn't like a Don who has done nothing good to the country to be put in such a way!!

DOngri To Dubai - A good read

I was looking forward to this book since I was expecting something as good as 'The Mafia Queens of Mumbai'.
The book is well researched and written very well. Honestly, I liked Mafia Queens more than this but nonetheless 'Dongri to Dubai' is DEFINITELY worth a read.
Anybody who wants to know the history of Mumbai Mafia and especially Dawood Ibrahim's rise to power should read this book.

Awesome Collection of Events.

All I have to say for this Book is - "Respect" for Mr. Zaidi,
He has provided a narration for almost all the Mafia Events for almost half a century.
The narration is so powerful you would be enchanted in the journey as well as would be able to fantasize the events in your own style, after all evry one is a hero in his own story.
It is a must read for every History fanatic as well as nation enthusiast.
I rate it a Perfect 5 ,it deserves it.
