  • Description

Don’t Hire The Best: An Essential Guide To Picking The Right Team is a useful and informative guide on the recruitment procedure of any company, and is based on the years of experience the author has gathered in leading HR teams at Microsoft, Wipro, PepsiCo, Tata Steel and Colgate.

    Summary Of The Book

The primary goal of this book is to help an employer hire the best fit for his or her company, instead of just hiring the best. The difference between this crucial step of hiring the right person, versus hiring the best has been discussed in detail in Don’t Hire The Best: An Essential Guide To Picking The Right Team. The author asserts that the standard protocol in Human Resources recruitment, which are resume short-listings followed by interviews, are not the only aspects that need to be taken into account. The personality of the candidate needs to be a good fit with the company and its team members as well.

Don’t Hire The Best: An Essential Guide To Picking The Right Team includes several case studies of recruitment ranging from small startups to multinational ventures. The book is segregated into three sections. The first deals with topics such as the role of a leader, the different approach required to hire a leader, and common mistakes made by interviewers. The second section covers the bright and dark sides of a personality, and building a successful profile. The last section is dedicated to values, organizational culture, and motivations for an organizational fit.

A very helpful guide for employers, recruiters and team leaders, Don’t Hire The Best: An Essential Guide To Picking The Right Team teaches you to take into account several contemporary aspects of the candidate. Skilled interviewers already know the trick about evaluating a candidate’s answer based on how applicable it is to the company and the rest of the employees. Through plenty of examples and real-life case studies, the author brings to the public, a simple yet effective guide book, guaranteed to make your recruitment processes a lot more profitable and successful.
