A must read book for every physician and health conscious...

About 19 years back, after my open heart surgery, my friend handover this book to me. This book changed my life dramatically. For the last 18 years, I am leaving my normal life, without any heart surgery traces. I am gifted this book to my friends to keep them away from heart problems. This is must read book after the age of 40. The theory explained in the book, really works.

After reading book, started 0 fats diet, 1 hr walk everyday, and within 10 days can see the difference.

I had read this book about ten years back, just out of curiosity. When my sister suffered a heart attack in Feb'2013, I was reminded of this book by Dr. Ornish. I gifted her a copy from Flipkart, after she was discharged from the hospital. It was delivered within 24 hours. (Good work Flipkart!). As for my sister, she has been following the Ornish program for about a month now and there has been a considerable improvement in her condition. She plans to continue the program described in the book!

What's not to like. He's the guru and his books must be read by all heart patients and their families/caregivers.

There are recipes in this book too that give you an understanding of how to modify the diet. As a supplement, read regional cookbook authors who have developed regional recipes with zero oil or low fat.
