The scientific term commonly used for a mixture of bacteria that is very useful for composting kitchen waste in households is "inoculum." In the market, various types of waste bins are available for waste processing. By sprinkling inoculum on top of vegetable scraps and food waste in the waste bin once a week, it is possible to produce high-quality compost for plants without any odor within 10-12 weeks. In other words, inoculum helps convert our organic waste into valuable compost. The waste bin should be kept protected from rain and direct sunlight. There should also be a facility to drain the leachate that forms during the decomposition process. This leachate is an excellent organic fertilizer and can be diluted and applied to plants. When first adding inoculum to the waste bin, it should be placed under a layer of dry leaves at the bottom of the bin.
