best book to understand basic concept of machine

This is the best book i have read for electrical machine.Every topic is explained clearly.This makes electrical machine more interesting and you will never get bored reading this book.
Although all the topics are not covered in this book(such as Salient type SM).And also numerical examples are less.for this you can refer any indian author book.
I think this book is must for every electrical engineering student who want their basics clear in electrical machine.

Excellent Book with Crystal Clear Concepts

This is the best book on Electric Machines. As a practicing engineer I had to refer some theory for a project.
I tried reading Thereja and then Bhimbra but I could not understand a word and actually developed a headache.
I then purchased Chapman from Flipkart and read through the entire book in 4 days. The writing style is excellent with crystal clear concepts and the content is exactly as needed in the industry.

One of the best!

This text has to be one of the best on Electrical Machines. Concepts are explained in a very lucid manner; with adequate importance being to each topic. The stuff on motors and generators is fantastic.

This along, with Wildi's EM book, is all you'll need for your machines course.

Great product

Elaborate and precise. Diagrams are clear and provide a very easy way to understand. Very good for beginner and if you have this book, you don't need to buy any other book to study machines. I have read machines from Charles Hubert too, but that one seems unnecessary after I have this book. one thing is Hubert has more solved problems. But it takes a bit much to understand Hubert and it's not recommended for beginners. but for any stage of learning machines, Chapman is the final solution.
