I have read third edition as well as fourth edition of this book..
New edition has lot of errors..makes reading frustrating..incomplete solved examples.. I find third edition better than this..Not suited for first course in Electric machines.. Author expects a certain level of intelligence on readers part also assumes that the reader has good concepts in field theory, network analysis(mainly phasor analysis), mathematics and basics of Electric machines itself!!

Very Fantastic book. to clear the concepts in electrical machines. all thing are explained in a great depth very comprehensive. At least one reading is must for electrical engg to clear concepts...

believe me!! if you are doing B.TECH in an Indian Engg. College this is the best book. despite many so called 'academicians' and 'critics' showing this book in poor light. this book would get you thru your semester exams, GATE, IES etc.
