S. Rao stood first in ME (Power) from Bangalore University (1962) and worked as Design Engineer in Hydro Construction Projects, Karnataka for six years. He has executed 400 substation projects as a Commissioning Manager. He has been associated with HRD courses for Power Engineers as a senior faculty member.
