    Summary Of The Book

    Electromagnetic Waves is a book that covers the syllabus of a number of Undergraduate courses on Electromagnetic Waves. The concepts in this book are explained, in terms of modern-day applications, without ignoring its underlying Mathematics. Through the course of this book, the readers are provided with insight into the use of Electro-Magnets for modern-day communications such as Wireless, and Satellite.

    In total, there are 11 chapters in this book, covering different aspects of Electromagnetic Waves. Some of the chapters in Electromagnetic Waves include Maxwell’s Equations, Uniform Plane Wave, Propagation of Radio Waves, Applications of EM Waves, Dielectric Waveguide, Plane Waves at Media Interface. There are also six appendices at the end of this book, covering Fourier Transformers, Some Useful Material Constants, Coordinate Systems, Units and Symbols, Vector Calculus, and Bessel Functions.

    In this book, the readers are provided with 125 solved problems, which are excellent for understanding the methodology for solving problems. Additionally, there are 211 exercise problems, and 330 review questions present in this book. Electromagnetic Waves is a part of the syllabus for Electronics, and Electrical Engineering.

    About R. K. Shevgaonkar

    The author of this book, R. K. Shevgaonkar, is also a renowned professor of engineering studies. Apart from this book, Shevgaonkar has written another book, entitled Transmission Lines. Shevgaonkar completed his Bachelors of Engineering degree from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, and went on to pursue his Masters of technology degree from the Indian Institute Of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K), specializing in the fields of Optical Fibres, and Electromagnetics. He also holds a Doctoral degree from IIT Bombay, where he studied Electrical Engineering. 

    Shevgaonkar has been a visiting professor at a number of universities, both in India and abroad. He currently holds the position of the director at IIT Delhi. In the past five years, Shevgaonkar has published more than 150 research papers in conferences, and journals. He has also won a number of awards for his immense contribution to the field of engineering, and is a fellow of the IEEE as well, being awarded with the IEEE UG Teaching Award in the year 2011. His main areas of interest lie in Fiber Optics Communication, Radio Astronomy, Antennas, Image Processing, and Non-Linear Fiber Optics.

    Awesome Book Just Go For It

    In my engineering days, I explored this book multiple times from preface to end. It is one of the excellent book ever written on electromagnetic waves. mainly the Transmission Lines, Maxwell's equations, E M Waves at media interface for both metallic and dielectric interface are superb. The main essence of this book is in the chapter of 'Antenna Array'. I can assure you the basics will be clear if you read it thoroughly.

    EM WAVES AND TLINES

    this is really excellent. This book might seem to be small but it gives a high level of understanding regarding ELECTROMAGNETICS AND ANTENNA RELATED AREAS.

    AUTHOR IS A IIT BOMBAY PROFESSOR. HE ALSO TAUGHT ONE VIDEO COURSE ON EMWAVE AND TRANSMISSION LINES. IT WOULD BE SUPERRRRRRRRRR........... IF U LISTEN TO VIDEO LECTURES AND READING THIS BOOK.

    VERY FAST DELIVERY

    This book is very good for EM theory .
    This boos contain Transmission line & Antenna part better than other books available in market .

    One problem of the book is that, it is starting the directly Maxwell equation so it does not contain the vector calculus ,co ordinate systems and fundamental of electrostatic and magneto static .You should use this book obviously as a reference book and go for it. .The book contain various type of problems and very reach in concept and good for regular an...

    Well written book

    Very well written book. For a second year or third year student being introduced to Microwave Engineering it explains the topics, in a concise and straightforward manner.
    There are no real dearth of questions and explained examples, and the way the subject is structured the types of questions in exams are reflected by the explained examples.

    Especially good for waveguides, transmission lines and Smith Chart. Extremely well designed examples for Smith Chart with tiny Smith Charts for Reference
