In the future, a strong sense of separation exists between the rich and the poor. While the rich live in a luxurious environment that is free of all sickness, the poor have to struggle by working to their last breath in a degraded environment. Directed and written by Neill Blomkamp and starring Matt Damon, Jodie Foster and Sharlto Copley, Elysium is a sci-fi action-drama film that portrays a world that is split into two regions for two kinds of people; the rich, who live on a space shuttle that orbits the planet and the poor who are subjected to a harsh life of labour in the ruins of Earth. However, one man will take on the duty of bringing about balance between all of mankind.
