Linux is all ready a ocean on the top of that embedded. if u have little of knowledge and work experience then this book will give u best picture for next level.

welll, a pretty awesome book.
has to be when it is recommended by the Linux Foundation itself.
I gave the book a Look while i was at C-DAC.

Pros:
1. Illustrated enough, neither too much or too less.
2. Excellent starting point
3. Hardware dependencies of an OS clearly illustrated

Cons:
1. Need to have some experience with the Linux Kernel (NOT APPLICATION, ITS KERNEL).
2. Well versed with system programming and OS Concepts (internals of system calls, memory management etc.)

As per my experience ,i found this book as the best book for beginners in Embedded Linux domain.

This book covers all the phases of Booting Embedded linux into a hardware board.
And also includes all the basics of the almost every topic relevant to embedded linux .

It covers the procedures of installing and using Busy box ,Build root..file systems
every things.
