What is poetry, if not a lyrical way of expressing an emotion? A choice of words, which requires a spark, a certain bent of mind, ever sensitive to its surroundings. There are three main kinds of poetry: narrative, dramatic and lyrical. It is not always possible to make a distinction between them. This book is a collection of all the above kinds of poetry written by women of Indian origin, who are not poets by profession. Maybe while cooking dinner, the sunset view outside prompted her to jot down a few words, or during an office meeting, a vagabond snowflake caught her attention, or perhaps it was that fleeting, transient emotion, which had to be expressed. Our poets are business administrators, directors, teachers, scientists, fashion bloggers, home-makers, or artists, and in this collection, they have strived to express their emotions in rhythm. Presenting to you 17 poets and their poetries, from Australia, Europe, India, Singapore, and the USA.
