In this revised 7th edition of Engineering Circuit Analysis, the readers are given key insight into the concepts pertaining to circuit analysis. The presentation of this book is simple and the topics are explained by incorporating numerous examples and computer-aided analyses. In total, there are over 170 solved examples along with over 1400 practice questions.

There are 18 chapters covered in the book. Some of the chapters included in the book are Circuit Analysis In The Domain, Magnetically Coupled Circuits, Sinusoidal Steady-State Analysis, Network Theorems & Useful Circuit Analysis Techniques, The RLC Circuit, Two Port Networks, Fourier Circuit Analysis, AC Circuit Power Analysis, Capacitors And Inductors, and Complex Frequency And The Laplace Transform. Additionally, there are seven appendices at the end of the book. They are titled A Brief MATLAB Tutorial, A Proof Of Thevenin’s Theorem, Complex Numbers, An Introduction To Network Topology, Solution Of Simultaneous Equations, Additional Laplace Transform Theorems, and A PSPICE Tutorial.

Through the course of this book, the authors cover important concepts by incorporating a very practical approach. This edition also contains links to two chapters that are online, State Variable Analysis and The Operational Amplifiers. In addition to the textual content, the readers are provided with tips, warnings, and relevant illustrations to make the concepts easier to grasp.

About The Authors

The author of this book, S. M. Durbin, is a renowned professor of Physics from America.

Apart from this book, Durbin has written a number of other educational books, some of which include Darwin Theory Of Heterostructure, Grazing-Incidence Bragg-Laue X-ray Diffraction, and The Advanced Photon Source.

Durbin currently holds the position of a professor in the Department of Physics at Purdue University, College of Science. He received a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Chicago (1976). Following that, he earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in Physics from the University of Illinois, Urbana. Durbin is also affiliated with the American Physical Society and the Advanced Photo Source Users Organization. In the year 1987, he was presented with the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award.

W. H. Hayt has written other books like Engineering Electromagnetics, and Problems and Solutions in Electromagnetics.

J. E. Kemmerly has also co-authored this book.

Basic book in Electronics

If you don't have any knowledge in Electronics then this is the best place to start. I really loved reading this book. I never understood anything in Electronics until I read this. It requires no prerequisite. It will take only few days to finish this book. After finishing you will understand those advanced concepts easily. In a nutshell, this is the best book for Electronics fundamentals.

Good Book for Practice - May contain mistakes

The book has a huge number of problems. By the end of it you will be capable of solving a lot of circuits in your head.

It does have mistakes however. This does get frustrating when you think you've got the answer wrong only to realize that the book contains errors. I have the 6th edition. The errata also contains errors.

However, I still recommend the book. The problems are really good and Hayt's structure of embedding practice problems with the theory is very effective (This proved effect...

A Must Buy!
