Summary Of The Book
Environmental Pollution Control Engineering is designed to serve the needs of senior level bachelor’s or first-year master’s degree courses in pollution control engineering. In this revised edition, the readers are provided with detailed insights into the principles pertaining to the source of water, land, and air pollutants. The effects of these natural resources on the environment have also been examined thoroughly in this book, along with ways to control them.
In total, this book contains 11 chapters. Some of them include Hazardous Waste Management, Pollution Sources and Effects, Waste Water Management, and Control of Specific Gaseous Pollutants. At the end of this book, there are also two appendices which throw light on the physical aspects of fluids, and conversion constants and factors.
Through the course of this book, the readers are provided with a comprehensive study of the impact of energy consumption patterns, environment and demographic trends, and their effect on the environment. In this edition, Rao has also included a chapter that deals with managing hazardous waste. Environmental Pollution Control Engineering also contains key insights on quality monitoring, modelling, and controlling major pollutants.
Additionally, the readers are also guided into applying concepts pertaining to chemical engineering for designing pollution control equipment. Rao has also included references on pollution issues in the Indian subcontinent. Apart from students, practicing engineers who are involved in environmental pollution control may also benefit greatly from this book.
