very useful book for the purpose of examination...lots of problem have been worked out which makes the fundamental concept of estimation very clear and topics are discussed in a very lucid manner...though valuation has not been discussed properly...

This is a must have book for civil engineering students. My teacher call this as a 'vardaan'. There are few more books which i really feel as a vardaan for us-
1. Theory of structures by S. Ramamurthan
2. Open channel flow by K. Subramanya
3. Surveying by K. R. Arora
4. Environmental engineering vol.1 and vol.2 by S. K. Garg
5.RCC by A. K. Jain
6.Mechanics of materials by Gere and Timoshenko or Gudnoo.
