Fannie And Udie... the scare of a lifetime! Fannie and Udie have lived next door to each other for most of their adult lives. Seldom, if ever, does anything extraordinary happen in their quiet neighborhood. That may be why, when the commotion in Udie's back yard rudely arouses her from a deep sleep, she is quick to call the local police. Their casual approach to her plea for help leaves her feeling abandoned - left alone with who knows what? After impatiently waiting, and beginning to doubt their arrival, the ninety-one year old Udie calls her good friend and neighbor, Fannie B. Osgood, to inform her of her plight. Fannie, also known as Miz B to her friends, is a lively character, and at eighty-two years of age she is definitely not one to be ignored. As soon as she learns of Udie's predicament, she calls the number taped to her phone for the local police station. Sergeant O'Malley answers, and after some discussion and at her insistence, he sends out two of his newest recruits to investigate Udie's complaint. Landry and Stanski arrive on the scene, patient amusement obvious on their faces, despite their fatigue at the tiring end of a long overnight shift. Standing on her front porch, wrapped in an aqua blue floral printed flannel robe, complete with blue slippers and a pink hairnet, Fannie pointed toward her next door neighbor's house. She held her post firmly as they drove into Udie's yard. Fannie watched as Udie's curtains were timidly pulled open, allowing her to see more clearly who was at the front door. Assured that the uniformed men had been sent to assist her, Udie slowly opened the door. Following a brief moment of explanations, and wild motioning towards the darkened area behind her house, Fannie watched the officers as they set off for Udie's back yard.
