The X5 Mark III is equipped with two top-flite AKM AK4490EN DACs, one for each channel. The AK4490EN is one of a new generation of high-end 32-bit DACs that support all PCM and DSD formats. By using a dual-channel implementation of AKM's unique velvet sound low-distortion architecture with digital filtering and 32-bit processing, the X5 Mark III has the ability to finely and exactly reproduce your music. Two separate crystal oscillators are used in the X5 Mark III, one for DSD/44.1/88.2/176.4/352.8kHz and one for 48/96/192/384kHz. This no-compromise design ensures the lowest jitter and highest precision for playback of music at all sample rates, eliminating all conversion artifacts. The X5 Mark III provides a standard 3.5mm single-ended headphone output, as well as a 2.5mm balanced headphone output. Fans of either headphone type can choose between the outputs easily or use both at the same time for shared listening enjoyment. Following the footsteps of FiiO's flagship DAP, the X5 Mark III also offers two modes of operation. In pure music mode, only the main FiiO music player app is available and all system resources are dedicated to smooth operation and pure sound. In Android mode, users are free to install any third-party apps to suit their listening needs. Wireless convenience is built into the X5 Mark III. Its Wi-Fi connectivity allows users to access the Internet and listen to their favorite online music streams. High quality wireless listening experience is provided by its use of aptX certified Bluetooth capability.
