Being a Whedonite, I'm a bit disposed to view JW's work with starry, coloured lenses.
However, this, out of all, is my personal favourite as it fits the entertainment bill for not only sci-fi enthusiasts but also adventure-lovers.

It appears to be a space opera but it is not [nothing near Galactica, mind you]. Futuristic but not quite. However, it does have 1) a superb cast, who gel with each other as well as they do with you 2) intriguing mystery on the identity of the fugitives on board 3...

This is the best sci-fi series out there. Pity that it was cancelled even before airing all the episodes. The series doesn't use futuristic sciency jargons, it just happens that spaceships are as common as airplanes in this verse. Joss Whedon adds a few classy touches to this space western by having regular guns and old fashion fight scenes instead of lasers or pulse weapons. Overall this show is just SHINY !!

One of the best Sci Fi Western series ever made. Shame it was discontinued after only 11 episodes. Also watch the Prequel Serenity.
Nathan Fillon is very convincing and funny. This was made before Castle.

If you haven't yet seen this show, shame on you! Strongly recommended to anyone even if you are not a fan of science fiction!

And this is a great price for the set!

All actors are perfect... too bad they shut it down after one season due to cost.
