Published in the year 1999, First, Break All The Rules: What The World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently is a book that throws light on the role of a manager, in terms of increasing the productivity of an organization.

    Summary Of The Book

First, Break All The Rules: What The World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently came into being as a result of 80000 personal interviews with managers. These interviews were carried out by the Gallup Organization over the past 25 years.

Through the course of this book, the readers are enlightened about the need for great front-line managers to steer the company towards success. The book explains that despite offering the best pay packets to its employees, along with numerous benefits, a company’s growth will become stagnant or deteriorate in the absence of dynamic front-line managers. The central focus of this book is how managers have obtained success by debunking old myths, and choosing talented employees, placing them in the positions where they can grow by leaps, and bounds, instead of in just about any vacant spot in the company. This book also emphasizes on the rules followed by some highly successful managers, as they focus on the employee’s strengths rather than their weaknesses, with the goal of increasing productivity.

This book is an excellent reference guide for managers of all levels. First, Break All The Rules: What The World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently held it’s position in the New York Times Bestseller list for 93 weeks.

It is a really nice book which provides a way to concieve of things that are practical and unusual to think

The book reached before my expectation and I was delighted.

    And I started reading..

The book is really a VALUE for money one... It contains anecdotes of real research and theses. It gives the reader a way to think unusually and understand the crucial and pivotal role of the HR function. Unless one reads something of this sort one will not be able to appreciate the importance of humans.
