    Highly recommended !!

One of the Best Classic I have ever read.
The author has done an intricate job of describing real world problems such as racial bigotry, status of woman in the society etc in a fictional yet true two dimensional world.
Imagine a world without third dimension - A two dimensional world a Flatland - whose residents are geometrical figures such as triangles, squares, pentagon and so on to the circles - who are priests(the perfects). Where the status of people in society is based on the regularity...

    Flatland: Romance of many dimensions

This was a real mesmerizer. Although it is somewhat to follow for some non-creative and students not yet completed their high school, but for others it is a real good one. The author has imagined a fantasy world and you will be caught in it. I finished it very quickly as soon as it came home from flipcart. A good one to read.

    Wit, humour and social satire

Abbott blends mathematics and his views about the society in this book which was written in the late 19th century. He talks of the position of women and ridicules the class distinctions in England. At the same time, he shows us how human knowledge isn't perfect...

I can't even begin to express the utter GENIUS that is this book. Abbott was brilliant and he addressed almost everything in these 150 pages. Total eyeopener. I love how it's STILL relevant, even after 130 years. Some things are just timeless. Don't miss out on this.
