    Description
Some of the most innovative and entrepreneurial minds of our times, in conversation with management guru and bestselling author Subroto Bagchi For the immensely popular column 'Zen Garden' which he published in Forbes India for over three years, bestselling business author Subroto Bagchi spoke to some very interesting people. Many, though not all, of the visitors to 'Zen Garden' were, like Subroto himself, high-performance entrepreneurs. But the one thing that was common to every guest was that they were pathmakers-rather than choosing to follow the well-trodden path, they had charted new paths that others could tread on. This book features the very best conversations from 'Zen Garden', including those with the Dalai Lama, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Nandan Nilekani, Aamir Khan, Dr Devi Shetty, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Ekta Kapoor, social entrepreneur Harish Hande, Sanjeev Bikhchandani of Naukri.com, Deep Kalra of MakeMyTrip.com, Café Coffee Day's V.G. Siddhartha, Vikram Bakshi (the man who brought McDonald's to India) and India's top winemaker, Rajeev Samant. In their own words, these game changers reveal what it was that made them think differently, what gave them the courage to step off the beaten track, and how they sustained their vision in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. Zen Garden is a book that every young Indian should read.

    Enthralling read!

It is difficult to put in words the sheer engagement I experienced with this read. Amitava Ghosh is quite simply brilliant (such an overused word but in this case, apt). His research is meticulous and it is evident that much hard work has been expended in this. His ability to blend the his learnings into the stories is and its characters is marvellous.

For those who have read the first 2 parts of the Ibis Trilogy (Sea of Poppies, River of Smoke), this book brings it all together. [If you ha...

    Great value for money

I received the book within 3 days of ordering. Excellent delivery, as always.

The book was perfect except for the corners of the hardcover which were a bit smeared. The page quality was a bit disappointing for a hardcover. Although, at 500 Rs, you can't ask for better than this.

The font size and the margins make sure that reading is a very pleasurable experience. The book itself is very immersing.

Overall, a good buy at this price.

Yes, I do accept that the book was good in parts

Yes, I do accept that the book was good in parts. When i first read 'the Sea of Poppies', i was shocked to know about the brutality of legal workers employed in Ghazipur Opium factory.I was startled to learn how men can think of totally sabotaging a woman's life and yet build a shrine to cover up the mess. Moreover the usage of desi language all across the book had made it even more alluring. On the flip side, Amitav introduced too many bollywood style action settings which made it look forced...

Brilliant prose, leaves a lot untold.

As usual, the brilliance of Amitav Ghosh's prose and storytelling stands out as the most conspicuous characteristic of this book. The characters are infused with life and dealt with adequately to showcase their point of views brilliantly. Even Mrs. Burnham's role in seducing Zachary and using him as an object of pleasure seems to be a more thoughtful act on her part by the time she ends her life in the Anahita. However, not all loose ends have been strung together and leaves a lot untold, ...

Epic Conclusion to a Marvelous Trilogy

Flood of fire is the concluding novel in the marvelous Ibis trilogy after Sea of Poppies and River of Smoke. The book chronicles the final stand off between the British and the Chinese in the opium war and how the characters of the previous books reappear, intermingle and redeem themselves. A characteristic tale from the greatest writer in English fiction, Flood of Fire brings forth the forgotten history of colonial exploitation, the ruthless disregard of ethics by capitalists and the life in...
