Over the years the heating furnace has been vulnerable to explosion, takes much time to heat the substances and has high power consumption problem. Therefore, the book demonstrates about how the performance of the heating furnace can be meliorated using FOPID (Fractional Order Proportional Integral Derivative) controllers that are being designed and tuned using various tuning and optimization techniques. The heating furnace has modeled dynamically in both fractional order and integer order and the performance of the both has been analysed. Also the comparison performance of the heating furnace with PID (Proportional Integral derivative) controllers and FOPID (Fractional Order Proportional Integral Derivative) controllers has also been analysed and discussed. Moreover the dynamic modelling of the heating furnace that has been done both in integer order and fractional order has been achieved using the three basic elements i.e. the mass element, the damping element and the spring element. Also in this book it will be clearly seen that the performance of heating furnace using the various controllers being designed and tuned has drastically improved in terms of steady state error, overshoot and settling time i.e. in other words in terms of power consumption, vulnerability of getting exploded and time taken to heat the substances respectively.

He has published a research paper during his graduation in the field of networking and he also has a patent that has been published in the Official journal of Indian patents which was related to the field of embedded systems and wireless communication. Currently he is carrying out his research in the field of control systems, which is mainly concentrated on the meliorating the performance of heating furnace using the PID controller with fractional elements under the guidance of Er. Sumit Mohanty. He has also done work in digital control systems and signal processing.
