Great phone at less than 2,000... :) Really great!
Well, I purchased the phone Forme Discovery for Rs. 1745. I offered my dad to buy a Asus Zenphone for him but he wanted to purchase something much cheaper. I read good things about Forme before and and even I wanted to see "dekhte hain Rs. 1,745/- mein kya denge."

Forme - The good and the bad
This phone is a good catch at just 2k. However like with anything cheap, this phone has its own sets of shortcomings. The battery is just okay and had to install a battery app just to keep it running for 12 hours. There is no equalizer in the music player and definitely no bass. Downloaded an app for that too and the problem was quite solved. However the biggest drawback of this phone is that no other headphone works with it. Looks premium!
Forme is one of the companies that have stood the test of time like Lava, Karbonn etc. P9 is a beautiful creation by Forme. At this price point this phone looks very premium with a glossy black body and nice tactile buttons. But don't expect this to be like the other android beasts like Zen Ultrafone 701 HD, Samsung galaxy etc… (you can read my comment for Zen Ultrafone 701 HD)

A Remarkable Try
The phone is a remarkable try by the manufacturer to give everything at a great bargain but it has not been as good as expected. The RAM should/could have been a little more, 128mb is not even the basic these days. The phone memory is very limited too and i had a hard time running third party apps. At one point i simply gave up when i couldnt make calls and /or write sms messages.

Reasonable if you do not expect a lot
Good mobile, and it does it's job satisfactorily.
Pros:
Good looks.
Android 4.2.2 JB
WiFi and dual mini (normal) sim
Nice volume and power buttons.
Screen guard and flip cover in the box
Great headphones. Quite loud.
Cons:
Proximity sensor is not too good. Does not work with the leather pouch on.
RAM and processing power too low to support additional apps.
Preinstalled video app does not support H.264
Great buy for people on a tight budget. Go for it.

Impressed in the first minutes of use
Flipkart delivered ahead of schedule, as usual. :)
The only confusing time was when I was clueless as to how to undo the backside of the phone to place the battery and sim card. A couple of minutes of befuddled prodding and
picking and I got lucky by just prying the gap at the bottom of the phone.
The free case and scratch guards (2) were a pleasant surprise.
Phone calls were ok. Android was good.
If I am still satisfied after a year of regular use, Forme needs to be thanked profoundly fo...
