without any second, do read it. it's definitely not something about cliches related to 'love' we know today. It teaches you many things, gives you new perspective to think upon. It's about pure love. if you are interested in Sufism or Muslim culture give it a try. it will broaden your horizon. Every human needs to read this. And yes book quality is amazing too.

A beautifully written novel with simple language and yet powerful ideas and feelings. Gives a good introduction to Rumi, the Sufi mystic and his teacher and companion Shams of Tabriz at the same time, parallely running a story about a woman in search of love to fill the void in her life. Quotations and the "Forty rules" of love introduced throughout the story are worth reading again and again. The book gave me a good introduction to Islam, the Qur'an and Rumi, whose poetry I am going to read ...
