About Eric Carle

Eric Carle is an American designer, illustrator and writer of children’s books. He is best known for his book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It is a picture book with few words that has been translated into more than 58 languages. He was honored with the biennial Laura Ingalls Wilder Award for his career contribution to American children's literature in 2003. Some of the other books authored by him are 1, 2, 3 to the Zoo, Pancakes, Pancakes!, The Very Long Tail, and What's for Lunch, among others.
