FUJIFILM JZ100  (Blue)

From Fujifilm’s JZ series of long-zoom compact cameras, comes the FinePix JZ100 point and shoot camera. With superb imaging and video quality, this very capable compact camera with its ability to capture a wide range of subjects using a variety of shooting modes is perfect for everyday use.

This FinePix JZ100 features a Fujinon 25 mm wide-angle lens with a focal length of 4.5 - 36.0 mm or a 35 mm equivalent of 25  - 200 mm. This very capable wide-angle lens gives the camera 8x of optical magnification along with a further 6.7x of digital zoom. The powerful CCD image sensor with primary colour filter gives the JZ100 an optical sensor resolution of 14 megapixels.

This FinePix camera from Fujifilm boasts a very compact and highly portable design, which with the inclusion of the battery and memory card manages to weigh only 129 g. All the captured images and videos on this camera can be viewed on its brilliant 230,000 dot resolution, 2.7 inch TFT colour LCD display which also doubles-up as a live viewfinder.

Battery and Storage

The JZ100 is powered by an NP-45A rechargeable lithium-ion battery that powers the camera for up to 180 shots. All the saved image and video files are saved on the JZ100’s memory unit which is in the form of an SD, SDHC or SDXC memory card. These saved files can easily be transferred onto a PC or a laptop using the camera’s high-speed USB digital interface.

Performance

The aperture control function lets you adjust the amount of light that passes through the lens, which on this camera has a range of f/2.9 - f/5.9. The camera’s TTL or through the lens works on the contrast detection method and has a range of 30 cm (Wide) and 90 cm (Tele) to infinity. It also has a macro focus range of 5 cm to 60 cm (Wide) and 80 cm to 1.2 m (Tele).

The ISO speed or the light sensitivity range on the JZ100 is from ISO 100 to 3200, letting you take clear and high quality images irrespective of the available light. The camera also has an impressive shutter speed variation with the highest being 1/2000 and the lowest at 8 sec. To further improve the low light capability of this FinePix is the advent of a built-in flash unit which has an operational range of 30 cm to 3 mred (Wide) and 90 cm to 2 m (Tele), allowing you to light up every corner of your frame.

Features

With several shooting modes which include SR auto or screen recognition auto, program and movie mode, the camera can automatically adjust the camera's settings for optimum results. These shooting modes along with a number of pre-set white balancing settings and the inclusion of Red Eye Reduction ,makes the FinePix JZ100 perfectly suited to capture high quality images in all possible conditions and scenarios.

The presence of an intelligent Lens Shift image stabilizer helps to make sure that the recorded video is steady and blur-free. The camera’s powerful 14 megapixel CCD optical image sensor gives you the capability of 720p HD video recording at 30fps with monaural sound capture and both PAL and NTSC output capability.

The face detection feature automatically detects focuses and prioritises the clarity of human faces that are present within the image frame. The camera’s self-timer function lets you delay the shutter release by 2 or 10 seconds, so that you can join your friends and other loved ones in every image. The JZ100 has the ability to capture up to 1.2 shots per second when on the continuous shooting mode.
